Shabnam Yoga
come home to your body
Welcome to the ancient art of Hatha Yoga, a nourishing, meditative, and deeply healing journey. Our holistic practice includes breathing techniques (Prāṇāyāma), physical postures (Āsana), focused awareness (Dhāraṇā), and deep rest (Yoga Nidra). When practised regularly, Hatha Yoga supports both physical and mental health: restoring strength and flexibility in the body, calming the mind, and cultivating balance and ease in daily life. A homecoming to the wholeness within.

About Me
Hello, I’m Shabnam — yoga teacher, software architect, and surfer.
From an early age, I was astonished by mathematics, the language of the universe. Later, yoga revealed itself to me as a whole new world, the language of the heart. Both have shaped me deeply: one nurtures my scientific mind, the other my longing for stillness and love.
I spent two years in India, the homeland of yoga, where I immersed myself in ancient teachings, passed down for thousands of years. I completed four yoga teacher trainings at the Sivananda International School of Yoga where we dove deeply into all aspects of advanced yogic practices and disciplines.
Yoga profoundly transformed my posture and health after years of working at computers. To master even a single yoga pose can take years, requiring incredible discipline, delicacy, humility, and patience. This depth of study and practice not only satisfied my analytical curiosity but also opened me to the mystery beyond the mind.
What I share now is simple: Yoga as a way of returning to inner wholeness, and to the gentle teacher of the heart — Love.

Shabnam – Dew
Our yoga is inspired by the Persian word Shabnam (شبنم), meaning dew at dawn, a symbol of purity, tenderness, and the soft blessings that nourish life. It is imagined as the night’s tears, or heaven’s secret kiss upon the earth. In Sufi poetry, it evokes divine grace descending silently, awakening the heart in stillness. Shabnam embodies fragility and resilience, blessings that arrive gently, and the luminous threshold between night and day.
Be like a dew drop
Free,
Ready to vanish,
Yet shining with the whole sun
